Welcome to the Art Studio of Laura McClanahan
Laura McClanahan is an abstract visionary artist, intuitively filtering the seen and unseen worlds onto the canvas with fluid patterns and crystal resin painting. Her research includes her past undergraduate studies in organic architecture and her Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art thesis about water called “Chaos Patterns”. Her sound healing meditation practice called, “Creative Frequencies” that she guides weekly with her husband Kirt Thoren helps her access increasing levels of intuitive abilities as she observes that, "musicians are magicians". Laura and her husband live in Pahoa, Hawaii, USA with their Frenchbulldog, Bianca. They are actively restoring a house on the edge of the 2018 lava flow and setting up a new art studio. In 2020 they relocated to Hawaii from the East Coast; New York, New Jersey, & Pennsylvania area where Laura exhibits regularly in local and New York City galleries and with International Art Fairs. A large collection of her paintings are for sale at Gemstone Gallery, Frenchtown, N.J. She exhibits increasingly around the Hawaii Islands and in international museum collections. Inspired by the ocean water and the Hawaii lava flow landscapes, Laura’s work addresses change and how we can go with the flow to evolve spiritually and overcome obstacles in our path.
